Years ago a freak accident of meds & virus made me legally blind & brain injured. Basically how a drunk will be all over & unable to write or anything like scratch an itch is every minute for me. I couldn't face my beloved sewing room for years, but had to accept that my hobbies are curtailed. I have new & barely used stuff priceless to like-minded people that would be junked by anyone disposing my estate, so I decided to do what I could to get these items to those who can appreciate them. I wish I could use them (excuse a moment of pity-party sobbing over much-loved stuff now useless to me) but tho my doctor is unbearably optimistic about recovering, 10 years with no sign of improvement means I'd like to find new homes for my things.
To go into a little more detail, I was on an MS drug that was high-powered & extremely good for me. Unfortunately that meant it was so good at keeping a leash on my immune cells to prevent them from doing damage to my brain they weren't able to chase away the common, weak virus most people ignore easily. While normally it could kill you, by freak chance I got a very rare mutant virus that ate the cerebellum instead, causing all kinds of disability. I was perfectly normal before, just had a few mild, worsening problems with balance, then awoke to being completely a mess a few days before Xmas 2014. Merry Christmas.
