I have sewn and crafted for over 30 years, professionally for nearly 20. I love fiber and textiles of all kinds. I started out making things for myself and my family; in college I worked in the theater costume shop and in a craft store; I have a home-based alterations and home dec business; I spent about ten years selling my items in craft malls and at craft shows; I sold my items on eBay under the ID brendaonline. I also work as a social researcher specializing in evaluation of programs for older adults.
In 2001 I was diagnosed with MS (multiple sclerosis). The illness has forced me to cut back from full-time work as a researcher and slow down my home-based business. At the same time, I have higher expenses to cope with and lots of items in storage from the craft show days.
By presenting my items online, I hope to reduce my inventory of past items and focus my future efforts on some favorite products. And whatever profits I'm able to make after costs are covered go toward making my home wheelchair accessible.
